To join (new members)
Welcome! We’re delighted you want to join and become part of our great Club. If you wish, prior to deciding to join us, you are most welcome to drop-in to the Club and chat with us. We may be able to offer advice and guidance. Good times to visit are Sundays, either lunchtime or after sailing at around 4.00pm. The Club is also regularly active on Saturdays and Thursday afternoons.
What do members get?
- Access to the site to launch and sail on the lake at any time within the sailing season. The site includes free car-parking.
- Access to the clubhouse and changing-rooms (including free-of-charge showers) at any time within the sailing season (mid-March to end of November).
- Ability to berth boats on site during the sailing season.

A note about inclusivity
We welcome members, guests and visitors of all ethnicities, ages, genders and sexual-preference, and physical and mental ability. With respect to physical and mental disability, we are only limited by the nature of our sport and the weather conditions of the day, our site facilities, training-boats and equipment. All our RYA Recognised Training Centre (RTC) instructors are 'Disclosure and Barring Service' (DBS) approved.

Mucking-in running the Club is part of the deal
Our Club is entirely member-driven: we have no employed staff. This means managing our activities is carried out entirely by members volunteering. It's not onerous: three days a year helping us in a safety boat or running races isn't much to ask for. And doing so should improve our powerboat handling skills or our knowledge of running races.
Volunteering is managed through a standard and well-known club volunteering website called 'DutyMan'. Find the link at the bottom of every page on this website: a black rectangle with the word 'Dutyman'. If you have any questions please contact a committee member.
Our Membership Categories
These are formulated reflecting today’s diversity with respect to families, personal partnerships and relationships between generations.
Full Membership → £165
This covers a sailing adult, as well as one non-sailing adult, together with all their children or wards aged 18 or under, and any of their children or wards still in full-time education up to the age of 25 on the 1st January of the sailing season who are in the same family or household, provided they are listed on the form. This category of membership is required in order to be eligible for training events and to hire Club boats.
Additional Sailing Adult → £55
This covers another adult in the same family or household as the Full Member, who wishes to take part in sailing or training events. More than one ' Additional Sailing Adult' membership is permitted.
Additional Sailing Child → £28
This covers another child, aged 18 or under on 1st January of the sailing season and is in the same family but not in the same household, such as a grandchild, of a Full Member. More than one Additional Sailing Child membership within a family is permitted. N.B. parents of this child must join as non-sailing/social members if they also wish to attend the club
Student Membership → £55
A student is a person between the ages of 18 and 25 on the 1st of January of the sailing season who is in full-time education, an apprenticeship or full-time training and resides in their family home or is living independently. Student Members have the same rights and responsibilities as a Full Member.
Non-sailing / Social Membership → £28
Membership for an adult who does not sail or windsurf. A non-sailing member may undertake 'on the water' duties.
For free membership under the above rules, the lead (main) member must include them as 'linked members' in the Membermojo system. You may log in and amend your own record if need be.

Berthing
A berth for dinghies kept at the sailing club is £50 for the season You will be allocated a marked slot for the season as well as a sticker identifying the slot with your membership number.
Trailers or road-bases which are not under a berthed boat can be parked on-site separately. The Club charges an annual parking fee of £25.00 for this convenience. These should also be parked in an allocated space which you will be told about. We ask that trailers and road-bases should be clearly identifiable and that they should be locked, preferably with a tow-hitch lock rather than a wheel-lock, so that they can be readily moved for grass-cutting, etc.).
Boat Storage (over winter)
Sailing and all other activities on the club site comes to an end in mid to late November. We recommence in mid-March. Often the site floods so members must remove their boats end of season to prevent loss or damage. There is limited space to store some members' boats in the club buildings. Since there is a high demand these spaces must be booked in advance and there is a modest storage fee, presently £50
